EcoFlow Stream AC5000 – UK First Look
EcoFlow has sent me an early pre-production Stream AC5000, giving us one of the first opportunities in the UK to get hands-on with their latest home battery system. Rather than rushing into a full review, this video is all about first impressions, the new features, and how it compares with the existing EcoFlow Stream range.

The Stream AC5000 is built around a 5kWh battery, designed to connect into your home via a fused spur. It can deliver up to 3,000W of AC output (depending on configuration), is IP65 rated when correctly sealed, and can also be charged using a microinverter, making it suitable for a range of plug-in solar and home battery applications.
One of the biggest changes is expandability. Instead of requiring separate parallel cables like previous models, the AC5000 uses a stackable design, allowing you to increase capacity from 5kWh to 15kWh per stack. Multiple stacks can then be combined virtually within the EcoFlow app, creating systems of up to 90kWh.
As this is a prototype unit, I'm deliberately stopping short of giving it a full review. Some installation details are still being finalised, and even getting the G98 paperwork completed has been more challenging because the product hasn't yet appeared in the relevant databases. Instead, I'll be replacing my existing EcoFlow battery with the AC5000 and sharing real-world performance over the coming months.
The video also covers the new connection system, changes to the AC ports, the 10-year warranty, and my initial thoughts after a few days of testing. Most importantly, this is just the beginning of a much longer evaluation once production hardware is available.
